Ananya Bhat photographs wildlife and conservation subjects across the Western Ghats with a field-first discipline. Her practice is built on time spent waiting, observing, and returning — not on spectacle. She has worked full-time since 2014, after six years as a software engineer, and the shift left her with a practical respect for systems, repetition, and precision.
The work brings together rainforest herpetofauna, big cats of Kabini and Bandipur, and shola grassland birdlife. It is photography made for art buyers, photo editors, and serious hobbyist photographers who value exacting light, restraint, and a clear point of view.

Ananya Bhat has spent 12 years in the field. Her images have been licensed by 30+ publications, shown in two solo exhibitions — Bengaluru in 2021 and Goa in 2023 — and placed in private collections in eight countries.
She worked as a software engineer for six years before leaving tech, and the shift still shapes the way she thinks about systems, repetition, and long-term consistency. The result is a body of work that reads as grounded rather than hurried.
